Urine Town research.

urinetown is a satirical comedy musical the premierd in 2001,with music by mark hollmann
and a book by Greg kotis. the show also parodies musicals such as the threepenny opera, the cradle will rock and les miserables, and the broadway musical itself as a form. the character os BOBBY Stong and Hope Cladwell were included on New York Theather Monthly's list of "The 100 Greatest Roles in Musical Theater".

Greg Kotis had the idea for Urinetown while traveling in Europe. He was a traveling student on a budget, he encountered a pay-per-use toilet, and began writing shortly thereafter, joining with Mark Hollmann for the journey to Broadway. there was apsolutly no production companie interested in opthioning the musiclal, but finally the Neo- Futurists, an experimental theatre group from chicago. agreed to produce Urinetown for their 1999-2000 season. moreover kotis and his wife was the original cast member. spencer Kayden belonged to the group.Fringe Festival accepted the show into thier festival.

Playwright David Auburn, a friend of Kotis and Hollmann, came to see the show and immediately called production company The Araca Group. The company optioned the musical and it opened Off Broadway at the American Theatre for Actors, transferring to Broadway in September 2001. Originally planned to open on September 13, the show contained several references which, after the September 11 attacks, would prove offensive. Ultimately, only one line was removed from the script, and the show opened September 20, 2001.    {wikipedia}

I've been off for a week, due to the fact that i fracture my small toe. however we have manage as a group to put and amazing piece together, although i felt horrible wet my self because I've missed,  most of the rehearsals. but that haven stop me or my class mates to do their best whilst rehearsing without me, they manage to make to make the scenes lest complicated and hard so it will be easy for me to catch up and place in easily.

Followed with an introduction by Me,Temwani,Edgar,Yasmine,Raphie and Ezekiel. we will be holding signs and ending up in one line.

meaning of introduction:  introduction/ˌɪntrəˈdʌkʃ(ə)n/  the action of introducing something. "issues arising from the introduction of new technology"

moreover we also look straight to the audience and say a couple of lines such as.

'We interviewed people'-[everyone
'We talked to others'-[yasmine]
'Friends family strangers'-[edgar]
'People who has been stop and search before.'-[everyone]
'And they all said the same thing'-[temwani]
'The same words "STEREOTYPED,JUDGED,WRONG RACE, WRONG PLACE, WRONG TIME."-[everyone]

we end the scene by ripping the signs.

we then have verbatim pieces: played by Tyrel,Natalia,Dorant and Bianca.

it have Dorant playing an old African lady,Natalia playing an black Jamaican guy, Tyrel playing an samrt white guy and Bianca playing an sassy young girl.

verbatim is mostly exaggeration of the lips movements.

it then Leeds into we thought about the stories..... we also have lines about stop and search:

the first peace is Me,Natalia and Morgan playing the role of police officers who walk up and randomly suspect that Ezekiel and Bianca are carrying illegal drugs, and search them. followed with a second scene with Me and Natalia stopping Tyrell but by his behaviour he convince us that he has nothing on him but he do.

MoreOver it's also good to know your rights while being stop and search. but it also good to know the right's the police have towards you.

 The police may have the power and right's, to stop and search you at anytime-they can, depending on the situation. however the police community support officer know as (PCSO) must be in uniform when they stop and questioned you. the police officer does not always have to be in uniform but they are not in uniform they must show you their warrant card.

-why are you in a sorting area or where are you going.

However, you dont always have to tell them or answer them.

the police officer has the power to stop and search you if the have a "reasonable ground" to suspect you are carrying:

- illegal drugs 

- a weapon

- stolen property

- something which could be uses to commit a crime..., etc 

normally you could only be stop and search without reasonable grounds if it has been approved by a senior police officer. this can happen if it is suspected that: 

- serious violence could take place

- you are carrying a weapon or use one

- you are in a specific location or area

therefore, before you are searched the police officer must tell you 

- there name and police station

- what they expect to find drugs...etc

- the reason they want to search you, it looks like you're hiding something

- why they are legally allowed to search and if this isn't possible at the time, how you can get a copy.

lastly a police could ask you to take your coat, jacket or glove.

the police could ask you to take off other clothes and anything you are wearing for religious reason-eg a veil or turban. if they do they must take you somewhere out of public view.

it the officer wanted to remove more than a jacket and gloves they must be the same sex as you.

jackie fall out character research

Ronnie is Shanice friend who pretty much don't have anyone  she depends a lot on Shanice, shes more the bad behaviour one who always get's in trouble.

Ronnie : my character is getting interview and she's is very rude. Therefor i decided to watch a bit  of Youtube videos about people being interviewed by the police.

this video helps me with my character because of the way the girl body language is, you could see the she's really annoyed. The way she was sitting on the ground the way she's talking to the police she have a lot of energy and that what my character need a lot of energy.
all I got to be a bit more fierce.
                                                   WHAT WE NEED FOR OUR SCENE.
My character need un matching  clothes, because she don't know how to dress, and she rely a lot on shanice.
we also need a table 4 chairs.
 a folder with paper for Dorant.

         what have we done in practical lessons                   Naturalistic.  / Stop And Search.

Devising; theatre (also called collaborative creation, is a form of theatre where the script originates not from a writer or writers, but from collaborative, usually improvisation, work by a group of people (usually, but not necessarily, the performers).

FOR EXAMPLE.
*We have included a short improvised scene between a mother and son, witch is played by Temwanie and Tyrel. Experimented with tension how?? pause,silent non verbal communication minimal dialogue.
*Ensemble work speaking as a chorus-in unison.
*we wanted to create something that was visually dramatic and very physical. We experimented with the creation of lines with an individual standing behind each person feeling their arms though the arm of another.
               
                             -what did this show. Darkness,LED lights add to the effect.

jackie reading the scrip of fallout

so far miss Jackie give us our scrip for fallout and we spent two lesson reading it and getting to know the characters individually, the play Fallout is very historical because it have a lot to do with race and being kill and dramatic. some of the character or very rude and emotional.

moreover we have also done hot seating for the characters, we have been giving individually. however we had to come dressed up as our character on Tuesday. It was really challenging because it had a lot of people throwing questions at you.

I find that it was a good way to see who ready the scrip more then ones because they were asking question the you would of known if you had read the scrip more then ones.

target: to be more prepared and always stay in character. start strong and finish stronger.

miss Jackie filmed us today, asking us about our characters in general, what we learned, and how we develop our character. we also come up a set list of what we need for the play. we them continue working on or scene and coming a with a better way to make the scene more creative and hones.

we worked on or scene but this time not just me and Dorant, but Natalia and Tyrell. it was challenging because we never rehears with them before, but it was fun because we got the play around with the scene.
 the only thing is I keep forgetting my lines. I find it hard to get in character so me and Dorant came up with a new way to help me get in character my calling......... name and that really helped me.

we have finish the chair duet. now we have officially started or first assignment, and its chair duet as well, but Temwanie and myself  have two new members, however it's a group of four with Morgan and Edga added to it.

we was told that this time we could choose our own location and come up with a hole new piece, moreover we got the opportunity too explore the college and come up with a location.

my group and i came up with the idea to do it on the field but it was as challenging as we wanted or piece to be, therefor we change it to the science class room

our target is to view the science room, and hopefully it will be the perfect location.
